Secrets and Clues
The Knights hope to find the vault where the Nameless King is hidden away. KO was one of those who defeated him in battle and hid him away.
The Nameless King's forces were defeated in what is now known as the Deadlands but he could not be killed. Instead, he was hidden away and cursed so no one would remember where he is.
The Knights believe the curse can be broken. It lies with two devas who battled the Nameless King: Rae and Astaria.
Astaria is missing, their own location hidden away using the same curse as the Nameless King, but Rae is believed to still walk this earth, broken and wandering in Sunken Revvia.
There have been several KOs over the ages. They arrive when needed and have little memory of their pasts. A KO can die and be buried and return again later in a new body.
The assassin the characters faced now acts as agent of the Lord Below / the Blood Ember.
A third celestial, Vrys, operates out of Sunken Revvia, building a cult around them. Vris is either lost or cast out – even they do not know.
KO was instrumental in stopping the Nameless King before. The Knights believe he would serve them well on their side, turning the tide.
KO seems to date back to the days of the primordials, when Gthuun of the Outside and Ovelek the Gray Worm defeated Ix the Sky Sunderer who shattered the sky above what is now known as the City of Arches with their death cry – thus thinning the borders between this world and others.
During the rise of the Warlords, more than 12,000 years ago, KO could be found commanding armies of Casaryn, the City of Wonders against the forces of Syssara the City of Snakes and the serpent-king Tharuus the Black Fang.
Most recently, KO battled with the armies of the Blue Star, fighting the forces of the Nameless King on this world and others.
